Improving MDF Production Stability Through Professional Refiner Feeding Screw Maintenance

The MDF production industry requires highly reliable equipment to ensure stable operation and consistent product quality. Among various components in the refining system, the refiner feeding screw plays an important role in controlling material transportation and feeding performance.

Installed between the pre-steaming section and refiner system, the feeding screw continuously transfers softened wood chips into the refining chamber. During daily operation, the component is exposed to high temperature, moisture, and abrasive materials, which can gradually affect screw flights, shafts, bearings, and other mechanical parts.

The new screw installation requires accurate alignment and correct positioning. The rotation direction, shaft center alignment, and clearance between screw flights and housing must meet operating requirements.

After completion, the equipment should undergo a no-load test to confirm smooth operation without abnormal vibration or friction.

Using wear-resistant materials and implementing preventive maintenance programs can significantly extend the service life of MDF feeding screws and improve the overall performance of the refiner system.
